Its foliage is grayish-green with a height from 1-3′ tall that are accented with purple flower spikes that have a strong scent similar to thyme and sage.

It should be noted that for maximum benefit, one needs to use the oily extract of oregano.

People with known allergic reaction to mint, sage, basil and thyme, which are all plants that belong to mint family, should not use oregano in any form.
