Hale’s Best Jumbo Melon
$3.00
One of the most grown heirloom cantaloupe melons in the U.S. Found growing in a California Japanese immigrant’s garden in 1923. The large, oval shaped, thin rind, heavy netted melon has sweet, orange flesh. The 5′ compact vines will produce approx. 5-7 fruits that will weigh between 4-6 lbs and measure 6-7” across. It resists drought and grows well in hot and humid climates. Usually ripens just when you’re ready for some ice cold ”melon candy” on those hot summer days! If you can smell it, it is time to pick it!
