Fordhook 242 Lima Bean
$3.50
The favorite, reliable, standard lima bean served at the dinner table since the 1940’s. This lima is preferred by gardeners for its heavy production in drought and heat conditions, as well as its versatility in being grown in Northern and Coastal climates. These 16-18” tall, bush-style plants have dense foliage and are effortless to grow. The 3-4” pods, which are easy to shell, are filled with 3-5 large, white/pale green, plump seeds that are full of that flavor you crave in “butter beans”. A great canner/freezer/fresh-eating variety that retains its flavor when processed. Needs minimum soil temperature of 75 degrees ºF for best germination results.
