Cumin

Low-growing, annual plant seldom exceeding 6" in height. Fragrant, ferny foliage is similar to dill. Young leaves make a nice addition to salad mixes. Grows best in warmer areas, but will produce seeds in northern areas if started early. Seeds are used as a flavoring in soups, stews, curry powder, and pastries and are still being used in the manufacture of some liqueurs. MEDICINAL USES: Seed aids digestion.
