Annual Letter

Dear Friends,

It's hard to believe 2012 is behind us and another beginning – another fresh garden – is on the horizon. It's a busy time of year, perhaps the busiest for our family, as we pack seed orders, plan for the upcoming Expos, and prepare our own gardens for the coming season. Surrounded by seed and our family, though, you won't find us complaining.

We came close to it this summer, we'll admit, when the long drought and scorching summer heat tried to sunburn our entire garden. Our plants grew the best they could under the circumstances and still provided much for our family to harvest and preserve, but could not claim a 100% success rate. Then again, no garden usually can. There's always lessons and losses to be accounted for. We all know that. But blessings always seem to accompany those difficulties. And 2012 was full of them!

As more and more people discover the importance and need for a self-sufficient life, the demand for a sustainable seed supply continues to increase. The garden is where it all began and that is where we must stay. This past year, we had the privilege of attending some great garden shows, survival/preparedness expos, and farm festivals in Missouri, Texas, and Arkansas. It's always nice to meet so many friendly people who share your love for gardening. From our booth and through Mike's seminars and classes, we got to shake the hands of hard working folks who shared our common goal of provision. We are anxiously looking forward to the upcoming shows we've got scheduled in Kansas City, St. Louis, Springfield, and Nashville. (For more information on our plans, click here)

Here at home and our store, we've added many new varieties for 2013, including the South America Yellow Popcorn , King of the North Sweet Pepper, Vegetable Spaghetti Squash , and the Sans Marzano Tomato. Many of you have asked us about Herbs and we're happy to announce that they're finally here! We're happy to offer some great varieties and we hope to add even more to our website soon. If you still can't find what you're looking for, give us a call and we'll see if we can get it for you. We've also added some wonderful additions to our Bookshelf and don't forget to check out our Survival Seed Kits, our #1 Bestseller so far! It will be time to start planting before you know it.

There certainly is a great deal of work that still lies ahead of us, but we are grateful for it and we're excited to continue in what the Lord has called us to do. We feel humbled and honored to have been a part of your gardens these past 2 years and we hope we can continue to help you grow reliable harvests!

Wishing you a beautiful, abundant, and blessed year,

The White Harvest Family

Mike, Diane, Savanna, Andrew, Melissa, Kevin, Carissa, Austin, and Ethan
